How To Get More Shiny Alphas in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus has been out for almost a month now and fans can’t get enough. There’s so many players that have already completed the game but are still playing to catch more Alphas and Shinys. If you get really lucky you might come across a Shiny Alpha Pokemon! These are very rare and catching them is not an easy task but the chase is fun. Players have been working for weeks trying to collect data and find the best way to find Shiny Alpha Pokemon. Here’s how to find and catch more Alpha Shiny Pokemon.

How To Find Shiny Alpha Pokemon in Mass Outbreaks

Obviously the best way to hunt Shiny Pokemon is through Mass Outbreaks. In these outbreaks you can also find Alphas and if you’re lucky a Shiny Alpha. There’s something you can do to increase your odds of getting a Shiny Alpha but first let’s talk about how Alphas spawn in Outbreaks. If an Alpha is in a mass outbreak, another alpha cannot spawn until the current one is caught or KO’d. This essentially means you can find multiple Alphas in the same mass outbreak but there can only be one at a time. Catching or KOing an Alpha Pokemon will not guarantee that more Alphas spawn but since there can only be one alpha in an outbreak at a time, you’ll need to take it out for more to spawn.

Basically, If the next Pokemon in the outbreak is a shiny, you’ll want to make sure to there are no Alphas in the group so you have a chance at getting a Shiny Alpha.

Twitter user, @Sibuna_Switch is where we found out that only one Alpha Pokemon can spawn at a time. In their video you can see a Shiny Pokemon spawn that was also supposed to be an Alpha but became a normal Shiny because there was already an Alpha in the outbreak. They reload and show that if they catch the Alpha before the Shiny spawns, it becomes a Shiny Alpha.

Are Alpha Pokemon & Shiny Pokemon Predetermined?

It has been found by the community that the moment you travel to a new location from Jubilife Village all Pokemon in that area are predetermined. This means Shiny Pokemon and Alpha Pokemon spawn around the map at the same time you load in, you just can’t see them yet. Knowing this means if you explore the area once and find no shinys then odds are you won’t find any until you go back to Jubilife Village and come back to the wild area.

New Hisuian Starter Pokemon Cards Revealed!

After the new Switch title, Pokemon Legends Arceus, came out fans have been waiting for more official art and cards for Hisuian Pokemon. Especially the new beloved Hisuian starter evolutions. The next Japanese Pokemon TCG expansion set, Battle Region, will finally give us more art for these Pokemon and they look amazing! We’re getting V and VStar cards for each Hisuian Starter evolution in this new set. Fans have speculated that the Pokemon Company purposely didn’t show official art of these three starters because they wanted players to play the game and evolve the Pokemon themselves to figure out what they look like. We’re glad they did this because not only does it avoid showing players spoilers but it was worth the wait. Here are the upcoming Hisuian Starter Pokemon cards in the Battle Region set!

Hisuian Typhlosion Cards

Hisuian Typhlosion has easily become a fan favorite out of the 3 starters in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Not only do people just love Cyndaquil but this Pokemon had the most drastic change out of all of the starters. Fans were a little worried at first before they saw official art because most of the time we see it without the purple flames around their neck. The purple flames make this Pokemon 100x cooler and without them it makes them look 100x cuter. But we’re glad they went with the cool version for these cards.

Hisuian Samurott Cards

The new Hisuian Samurott evolution is a personal favorite of mine. Even though it’s not a major change from the original Samurott form, it’s clearly a huge improvement and flows so well with the environment in the Hisui Region.

Hisuian Decidueye Cards

Hisuian Decidueye also had slight changes compared to the original form. The most major change is obviously the color is now red instead of green. This makes them look more fierce and battle ready than every before.

Pokemon Legends Arceus Glitches That Will Make You Laugh

Funny Glitches in Pokemon Legends Arceus

The newest Pokemon game, Pokemon Legends Arceus, has been out for a few weeks now and at this point players have explored every corner of the game, besides some hidden content that players are still finding. This also means players have encountered a number of bugs and glitches, most of which are just plain funny to look at. Here are some glitches that don’t necessarily break the game but are interesting nonetheless.

Graphical Stretching Glitch

This first one is a rare glitch where a character model is stretched out and just looks like a jumbled mess of polygons. In this clip the player comes across a Chingling that doesn’t look like anything resembling a Pokemon. We’ve seen this happened to Pokemon and Trainers alike but we’re not sure exactly what causes this. For fans that used to play the MMORPG Runescape this one might look familiar as some updates to characters or animations in that game would cause a bug very similar looking to this. Overall this is just a funny visual glitch that isn’t game breaking but will certainly pull you out of immersion and confuse any player.

Running In Place Cutscene Glitch

A reddit user posted this cutscene glitch where their character is running in place the entire time Commander Kamado is talking. This possibly occurred by a controller input being listened to after the cutscene already started but we haven’t seen it recreated yet so we’re not sure what caused this one either. Either way it’s funny to see the character completely ignoring the serious dialog while running on a treadmill.

Running Around Irida Glitch

This is another graphical glitch that doesn’t effect gameplay so much but looks really weird. A Twitter user found if you run in circles around Irida, in the Alabaster Icelands at a certain part of the story’s progression, you’ll see a character model in the distance become larger and larger until it covers your whole screen. No one’s sure what causes this specific action to make a texture stretch out like this but it’s so random you can’t help but wonder how players found this.

Brilliant Stars Pull Rates for New Pokemon TCG Set

Brilliant Stars Pull Rates

The newest Pokemon TCG set, Brilliant Stars just released! Players and collectors are hyped to open packs and see what they get. Many PokeTubers and content creators got these packs early before release and are opening them on YouTube. Reddit user u/ABkCkay posted a chart on the PokemonTCG subreddit that shows Brilliant Stars pulls rates for each type of card in this Pokemon TCG set based on these early packs. These numbers are from opening 20 booster boxes which is a total of 720 booster packs. Another user says they’ve watched 20 unboxings of this new set and these numbers look similar to what they’ve seen. Does Brilliant Stars have good pull rates? Here we can see percentages for card types as more packs are being opened by YouTubers and streamers.

Pull Rate for VStar Cards

Out of all Brilliant Stars pull rates, fans want to know what the odds are of pulling a VSTAR card. VSTAR is the newest type of Pokemon card that everyone wants. These are proving to be more difficult to pull than we originally thought. Although, you’re more likely to pull this than a VMax card, the pull rate for a single VStar card is about 55% for each Brilliant Stars booster box. A booster box has 36 booster packs This means the odds of you getting a VStar card in a single Brilliant Stars booster pack is about 1.5%, which is rarer than pulling a Secret Rare card at 1.9% per booster pack.

Brilliant Stars Pull Rates for All Card Types

It’s good to note that the Trainer Gallery cards are similar to Character Rare cards we’ve seen in Japanese sets such as Star Birth. These Trainer Gallery cards feature a character such as a Pokemon Trainer with their Pokemon. The percentages for pull rates below are based on early numbers from the reddit post above and may change as we see more of these packs opened. Huge credit to ABkCkay but we’ve arranged the numbers in a more digestible format here. Here are the odds of getting each card type from a single Brilliant Stars booster pack.

  • V Card pull rate = 13.5% per pack
  • Trainer Gallery pull rate = 12% per pack
  • Main Set Fullart pull rate = 3.5% per pack
  • Secret Rare pull rate = 1.9% per pack
  • VStar pull rate = 1.5% per pack
  • Rainbow Rare pull rate = 1% per pack
  • VMax pull rate = 0.8% per pack
  • Gold Card pull rate = 0.8% per pack
  • Alternate Art pull rate = 0.7% per pack

Where To Buy Brilliant Stars Packs

Is Brilliant Stars worth it? Well, it seems pull rates are better than many previous set and the art is amazing! If you’re looking to get your hands on some Brilliant Stars packs or boxes, a great and reliable source for Pokemon cards is GameStop. Not only will you be getting it from a trusted source for a good price but PokePatch also earns a commission from some orders and you’ll be helping our website stay up. Thank you!

Last Chance to Buy Celebrations Packs as Pokemon TCG Set Ending Soon

Celebrating 25 Years of Pokemon TCG

The whole year of 2021, The Pokemon Company was celebrating their 25th anniversary by releasing many new products related to this event. One of the most popular products from this year was the Celebrations TCG expansion set that had small packs of 4 cards. All cards in each pack are holo or better. There are also recreations of classic base set and other older cards. This formula made this Pokemon TCG set one of the most popular in a long time. With the year being 2022 now, they’re finally ending this set once and for all.

When Does Pokemon Celebrations End?

The Pokemon Celebrations TCG set will only be available until 2/26 at 4pm PT or while supplies last. We expect these wont stay in stock for long with the demand increasing again. Many places are already sold out but there are still some major retail websites and locations with Celebrations still in stock.

PokePatch also earns commission from eligible GameStop purchases so you’ll be helping our website stay up. Thank you for the support!

How To Get More Outbreaks – The Best Shiny Hunting Method in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus is the newest game in the Pokemon franchise and has quickly become known for it’s unique gameplay mechanics. This new title changes many things about Pokemon, one of those being how players obtain Shiny Pokemon. Mass Outbreaks have easily become the best way to hunt Shiny Pokemon in Legends Arceus. If you want to join in on the Shiny hunting, you’re probably wondering how do I get more mass outbreaks to spawn? Here’s what we’ve found.

How To Trigger an Outbreak Spawn

Outbreaks don’t really have a respawn time as it’s based on what you’re doing not how long you wait. According to @Kaphotics on Twitter and multiple others with similar data, when you travel to Jubilife Village from an open area, such as the Obsidian Fieldlands, there is a 20% chance a mass outbreak will spawn. This means on average every 5 times you fast travel to the village, an outbreak will spawn in a random area. In our own testing, on average we got an outbreak to appear every 3 fast travels to Jubilife Village. We may have just got lucky with these numbers but it seems that the fastest way to get more outbreaks to spawn is to fast travel back and forth between Obsidian Fieldlands and Jubilife Village until you get one.

Do Outbreaks Despawn?

Outbreaks can despawn but again, this is not based on time. So if you go afk or take a detour on your way to the reported mass outbreak location, you don’t have to worry about it despawning. According to the tweet above, an outbreak can potentially despawn when you travel to a different area outside of that outbreak. For example, if there’s an Eevee mass outbreak in the Cobalt Coastlands and you travel to Alabaster Icelands, there’s a 20% chance that Eevee outbreak will despawn. This knowledge can be used to your benefit, though. If you get an outbreak for a Pokemon that you don’t want, don’t travel to that outbreak’s location until it despawns and you can get a different one.

Hidden Modern Room Discovered in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Recently, a hidden room was discovered in Pokemon Legends Arceus by Twitter user @DeepGameRes that has modern decor and future technology that doesn’t exist at the time when Legends Arceus take place. This looks similar to a room you would see in the beginning of every other Pokemon game. The assets used in this secret room aren’t found anywhere else in the game, such as a Nintendo Switch and TV. Usually PokePatch doesn’t cover leaked information but this is an exception because we don’t believe this will be used for any future Legends Arceus content so it’s not really a leak.

Easter Egg or Secret Room?

This is most likely not an Easter egg because it doesn’t seem to be accessible to players. This hidden bedroom isn’t just some out of bounds place, it’s in another map entirely that players can’t normally get to. This map was probably used for development purposes as it looks like an empty flat plain of grass. The most popular theory in the community right now is that this room was supposed to be used for the intro to Pokemon Legends Arceus before your character falls through the space-time rift. This would confirm that the trainer you play as comes from the future. This could have been cut out so they could introduce the game and Arceus in a more mysterious way.

Unused Map

Deep Game Research is still looking into this specific unused map and recently found that it’s not fully flat. In this video you can see there’s a huge ravine or valley like mountain structure and they confirm this map is very large. So far, it still seems like an early test map for developers. If not, it could be an early version of DLC content. If you’d like to see more updates on this unused content as the community finds more, follow @DeepGameRes on Twitter.

No, You Can’t Get Pokemon Legends Arceus On Your Phone. Don’t Fall For These Scams

How To Download Pokemon Legends Arceus On Your Phone

You Can’t.

Mobile Download Scams

Recently there have been videos going up on YouTube luring people into believing you can play Pokemon Legends Arceus on your mobile device. While lying to you, they lead you to sketchy websites that require you to download something on your mobile device that’s most likely a virus and they have you complete offers and click advertisements for a “verification”. This is one of the oldest scams on the internet, people promising free stuff as long as you download something or give them personal info. It never works and they make money off of you wasting your time.

Obviously most people reading this know that these are scams and would never fall for such a thing. The problem is some people, mostly kids, will fall victim to this. I was a kid once trying to get free RuneScape memberships and other sketchy offers. In the end, I fell for a lot of lies. After all, why not? In this situation you can’t see how many dislikes the video has and most of the comments are positive, so it looks legit to the unsuspecting eye. This type of content is unacceptable and we encourage people to report if you see suspicious content on YouTube or elsewhere. These videos should be taken down so no one falls victim to this.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

A Pokemon fan by the name of @TheAbsol on Twitter was one of the first to call out these videos. They investigate further and point out other details such as one channel being inactive for 14 years before uploading a scam tutorial. This thread caught the attention of @TeamYouTube as they responded that they’re looking into this.

What Are Shards Used For in Pokemon Legends Arceus?

If you’ve been playing Pokemon Legends Arceus like everyone else lately, you’ve probably explored enough to find space-time distortions. Upon entering these space time distortions, you won’t just notice all of the rare Pokemon that spawn but the usual items all over the ground. These items are usually exp candy, evolution stones, and shards. Shards come in three colors, red, green, and blue. But what are they used for?

What Are the Shards For?

Make sure to hold onto shards instead of selling them. These red, green, and blue shards are used later in the game as a crafting material. You’ll be able to make a Star Piece that can be sold for 5,000 Pokedollars. Although, shards can’t be used for much else, this is an easy way to make money in Legends Arceus.

How To Craft Star Pieces

To be able to use colored shards to craft these Star Pieces, first you’ll need to get 10,000 Pokedollars to afford the recipe. This isn’t much considering you can make your money back with just 2 Star Pieces. Go to the Craftworks shop in Jubilife Village and speak to Anvin. Here ask for recipes and it should be the last one on the list. Buy this recipe to unlock the ability to craft expensive Star Pieces. To craft a Star Piece you’ll need 2 red shards, 2 green shards, 2 blue shards, and 1 star dust.
