Will Pokemon Legends Arceus Have DLC? Theories and Predictions

Pokemon Legends Arceus is the newest upcoming game in the Pokemon franchise. This title explores new game mechanics in a completely new region and time period. With all of that being said, there’s already a lot of hype for this game. Obviously there will be a lot of players on launch for this reason and it seems like we’ll have a lot of content to explore just based on the massive size of the map alone. The question is already being asked, after the game has been complete by a majority of the players will there be DLC?

Will There Be DLC?

Since the game hasn’t released yet, as the time of publishing this article, there is no way for us to know for sure if there will be DLC for Pokemon Legends Arceus. But we already have a hint of what the lore might look like and it gives us a pretty good idea of what extra downloadable content might look like.

When Will DLC Come Out?

The only hint as to when DLC will be released is to look at previous Pokemon games. Sword and Shield’s first expansion, The Isle of Armor, released about 7 months after the base game came out and its last DLC, The Crown Tundra was a year after SwSh. So if there will be an expansion for Legends Arceus, we’ll expect it to be released 7 to 12 months after the game first releases.

DLC Predictions

Obviously Arceus is the main Pokemon in this game. Arceus is seen as a god in the Pokemon world, as they created Dialga (time), Palkia (matter), and Giratina (antimatter). It seems like Dialga and Palkia will be center stage in Legends Arceus. The wardens of the Diamond and Pearl clans are themed after Dialga and Palkia. That leaves one Pokemon left that came from Arceus, Giratina. Though, Giratina is closely related to Arceus, we never see it in any trailers or promotional material. This could mean Giratina is an endgame Pokemon, like a final boss, or they’re saving this Pokemon for DLC.

Most Interesting Base Set Errors From Vintage Pokemon TCG Cards

With certain Youtubers and celebrities buying and opening up Base Set booster packs and booster boxes, it’s bringing more attention to these vintage Pokemon cards. Something not a lot of people realize is there are a lot of errors and misprints in these early WOTC booster packs. Here are some of the most interesting, weird errors and misprints from the first Base Set Pokemon TCG set.

1. Red Cheeks Pikachu Misprint

Red Cheeks Pikachu is arguably the most famous Pokemon card error, especially in the early days of the Pokemon TCG. These cards were originally supposed to have Pikachu with yellow cheeks. Due to a miscommunication between the illustrator and the printers, these Pikachus had red cheeks. These can be found in 1st edition and shadowless booster packs but in later packs were changed to yellow cheeks. Not only are these more rare but more iconic because Pikachu’s official character design has red cheeks.

2. Diglett Sideways Energy Misprint

PokePatch pokemon base set diglett error energy misprint

Diglett was a common card in the base set but a strange error occurred on the Dig move on some of the cards that were printed. The energy symbol on the first attack listed is rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. This is a strange and unique misprint as we don’t see this on any modern cards and no information has come out about how this error happened.

3. Ninetales No Attack Damage Misprint

Ninetales is a more rare holo card and even a chase card for many in base set packs but there was a problem with some of these cards as well. It seems someone in charge of designing this card forgot to put the attack damage next to the Fire Blast move. This was probably noticed pretty quickly because back in the day this could’ve caused problems with those who played the TCG, which was very common with kids 20 years ago but now it just serves as a cool collectors item.

Why You’re Always On Purple Team in Pokemon Unite

Are You Always On Purple Team?

If you’ve played a few matches of Pokemon Unite by now you may have noticed you’re never on the orange team. This is because you’re always on purple team by design. Even your opponents are on the “purple” team. What I mean by this is everyone sees their allies as purple and their opponents as orange. This is so you’ll never get mixed up when targeting an enemy, so you don’t accidentally try to attack an ally. It’s something that isn’t often an issue in other games but still happens. When you’re playing games like Counter Strike, you might be used to playing on a certain team and when you’re playing on the other team for once, you’ll end up attacking a teammate, giving you and your team a disadvantage.

Why You’re Always On The Left Side

The colors of the teams is pretty simple but another thing developers made sure of is your base is always on the left side of the arena. The enemy will see their spawn on the left side of their screen as well, so how does this work? At first I thought the arena was rotated 180 degrees on the enemy team to create this effect, this would mean your top lane would be the enemy’s bottom lane, but this isn’t the case. The reason we know this is because the layout of the map and placement of wild Pokemon always stay the same. For example, Drednaw is always at the bottom of the stage. This means the other team’s screen is flipped to be a mirrored image of what you see. This is another clever way of making sure you’re never accidentally running the wrong way to score on your own goal.

Person Pulls 50+ Charizard Cards out of One Box in Pokemon TCG Error

With the Pokemon Company releasing so many expansion sets in the TCG, errors and misprints are not uncommon to see among specific cards. What’s more uncommon are packaging errors that affect entire booster packs and even rarer than that, ones that affect entire boxes.

What is The Battle Academy Pokemon Box?

The Battle Academy box is a board game / card game that teaches you how to play the Pokemon TCG. These boxes don’t come with booster packs but they come with three decks of 60 cards so you can play. Each box is about $20 (USD) and also comes with three GX cards. You’ll get one Raichu GX, Mewtwo GX, and Charizard GX. This means you’ll only get 1 Charizard GX card for every Battle Academy box you buy. For one reddit user, this was not the case.

Battle Academy Error Box

This reddit user posted a picture of a bunch of these Charizard GX cards fanned out on the table and claim they got all of them from a single Battle Academy box. They pulled more than 50 Charizard GX cards and one Charmander out of this deck. That’s the equivalent of buying 50 boxes for a total of ~$1,000 (USD).

Many replies discuss how this box, alone, could inflate the market for this specific card and devalue it a lot if they decide to sell them. If the owner sells all of these cards, they won’t be as rare or scarce to get so the price will drop. They could decide to sell a little at a time or just keep them all until years down the road, when the card is no longer available and possibly make even more money. Either way, it’s a very rare and interesting error and one that has confused many.

All 2021 Holiday Costumed Pokemon and How to Catch Them in Pokemon Go

With the Holidays in full swing, Pokemon Go is celebrating by putting new Christmas and holiday themed Pokemon in the game. For a limited time, you’ll be able to catch certain Pokemon that are dressed up for the Holidays. There are also shiny versions of these Pokemon but they’re very rare, of course. Pokemon Go players will have until the end of the year, December 31st, to catch these holiday edition Pokemon. Here are the costumed Pokemon you can catch and how to get them.

For more information on the Pokemon Go Holiday event, check the official website here.

Holiday Pikachu

The Holiday Pikachu with a Santa hat should be the easiest to get in this list. You can catch the Holiday costumes Pikachu from Wild Encounters, Field Research, and One Star Raids

Holiday Delibird

The Holiday Delibird may be a little harder to find but not too difficult if you play enough. You can catch these in Wild Encounters, Field Research, Three Star Raids.

Holiday Stantler

The way to get a Holiday Stantler is the same as the Delibird. You can catch them through Wild Encounters, Field Research, and Three Star Raids

Holiday Spheal

Similar to the Pikachu, this one shouldnt be too difficult to find and catch. You can catch a Holiday Shealy through Wild Encounters, Field Research, and One Star Raids.

Holiday Cubchoo

Another more common spawn to see this holiday season is the Holiday Cubchoo. To catch the Holiday Cubchoo, you’ll have yo find it in Wild Encounters, Field Research, and One Star Raids.

Holiday Glaceon

This may be the hardest to catch out of all of the holiday Pokemon this year unless you’re really unlucky with finding another one. That’s because the only way you can catch a Holiday Glaceon is by getting it after winning a Three Star Raid.

Weird Fusion Strike Errors & Misprints from the New Pokémon TCG Set

Pokemon’s TCG set, Fusion Strike, has been out for more than a month now, which is a lot of time for error packs and misprinted cards to be noticed and posted online. We’ve seen a lot of strange errors with this set and fans have been concerned with the Pokemon TCG’s quality control. On top of this concern, collectors have been upset with the pull rates being harsh with this set. Other fans love these types of cards and purposely collect these just because they’re rare and different from what you’d normally see. Here are some of the weirdest errors we’ve seen from Fusion Strike booster packs.

Blank Card Error

This is one of the most interesting errors I’ve ever seen in a pack of Pokemon cards. This person pulled a completely blank piece of cardboard out of a booster pack. How a sheet of Pokemon cards was not only not printed but also cut and packaged like this is a mystery to say the least. The blank card also replaced the holo slot in the pack, so this person did not receive a rare in this pack at all. Both sides are brown and don’t feature and art or ink on them. If one side had art or the Pokemon back, while the other side was blank, this card would probably go for a lot of money to error collectors. But since it’s blank on both sides, it’s nothing more than just really interesting and confusing.

Holo Shift Misprint V Cards

Holo shift cards, also known as a bleed or a drop shadow, are cards that appear to have a double print. These are very rare and hold a lot of value to collectors of error cards. This reddit user opened a Fusion Strike booster box and every V card they pulled had this effect on it. Another user posted that they had this effect on the back of one of their cards.

Worst Miscut Cards

Miscut cards are when the cards have been misaligned and cut incorrectly. When this happens, you’ll see other Pokemon cards on the edges. It basically looks like two halves of 2 differnt Pokemon cards combined into one. This Reddit post shows one of the worst miscut cards I’ve ever seen. To some people these are pretty collectable too because they’re so rare but it’s still not good for normal collectors or TCG players to pull errors like this.

These errors are very noticeable and cool but there are other errors and misprints that aren’t as obvious. It’s always good to take a close look at your cards for errors as this can effect grading but you also may be holding onto something more rare than you realize.

Who is the Galaxy Expedition Team in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The release of the upcoming Pokemon game, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, is right around the corner and fans still are left not knowing much about the lore of the game. A major part of the story will revolve around the Galaxy Team in the Hisui region as you’ll be working with the members to complete tasks. Here’s what we know so far about the Galaxy Expedition Team.

What is the Galaxy Team?

The Galaxy Team is the Team Galactic of the past. The Hisui region takes place where the Sinnoh region is but hundreds of years before Diamond and Pearl. The Galaxy Team’s mission and morals are very different from Team Galactic, however. Their mission is to protect Noble Pokemon and their habitats, these gaurdians are called Wardens. Each Warden is assigned a different Noble / Alpha Pokemon to protect across the Hisui region.

Kamado – Galaxy Team Leader

Commander Kamado is the leader of the Galaxy Team and the ancestor of Professor Rowan from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl (BDSP). Not much is known about Kamado at this time but it seems like all Wardens and Clan Leaders report to him.

Galaxy Team vs Team Galactic

Playing Legends: Arceus, you’ll notice most of the characters look familiar. This is because they’re all ancestors of characters in Diamond and Pearl. The Galaxy Team eventually becomes Team Galactic hundreds of years later but they are very different teams. While the Galaxy Team’s focus is on protecting Pokemon and their habitats, Team Galactic is quite the opposite. They don’t care for Pokemon’s well being and are focused on taking over the galaxy. The theory is that over time this group became less caring and more corrupt, especially thanks to it’s new leader, Cyrus, who wanted more power.

Diamond and Pearl Clans

The Galaxy Team seems to be split into two different clans. They both have the same mission, just different approaches and beliefs.

What is the Ginko Guild in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

A new trailer recently released for the upcoming game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. In this trailer we’re introduced to the Diamond and Pearl clans and the Ginko Guild. The Ginko Guild is a team of merchants that travel the Hisui region, finding people to trade with. You’ll come across these merchants on your journey and be able to buy and sell items with them, similar to Poke Centers in previous games.

Ginter – Ginko Guild Leader

The Ginko Guild Leader, Ginter, keeps the guild together but doesn’t travel as much. He’ll sell you more rare items that he finds across the region compared to other merchants.

Volo

Volo can be found traveling across the Hisui region and sells you less rare, but essential items. If you run into a merchant, no matter where you are, it’s most likely Volo.

What Do Merchants Sell?

What a merchant is selling depends on who you’re trading with but in the trailer we see the merchant selling several consumable items. They sell berries, which can be used to heal your Pokemon but also to attract wild Pokemon’s attention by throwing a berry near it. Bugwort, which is a healing item but can not be used on Pokemon because it’s so bitter. This will most likely be an item you can use on your Trainer to restore HP. Other items sold can be used to craft things or have status effects like strength buffs.

Who Are The Diamond and Pearl Clans in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

A new trailer recently released introduced us to two different clans in the Hisui region, the Diamond and Pearl clans. We know they both have the same tasks, as they are made up of teams of Wardens that protect Noble Pokemon across the region. The wardens protect these special Pokemon by maintaining their habitats, making sure their territories are safe, and providing offerings such as food and water. Each Warden is assigned a specific Pokemon to protect so each Noble or Alpha Pokémon you see will be overlooked by a certain Warden. But what is the difference between these clans?

Diamond Clan in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

The Diamond clan’s theme is based on the Legendary Pokemon, Dialga. Their clothes, flags, and buildings are a dark blue and white, which is the color scheme that Dialga has. This clan is also known for not wasting time, which lines up with the Pokemon it’s designed after. Dialga has the ability to control time.

Diamond Clan Leader: Adaman

Adaman leads the Diamond Clan and has Leafeon as his partner. His way of thinking puts him at odds with the Pearl clan and can be found often arguing with the Irida, the leader of the Pearl Clan.

Pearl Clan in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

While the Pearl clan’s mission is the same as the Diamond clan, their approach to protecting Pokemon is the opposite. They take their time and create a relationship with Noble Pokemon and people before making decisions. Their design takes after the Legendary Pokemon, Palkia, which is light-purple and white and has the ability to manipulate space.

Pearl Clan Leader: Irida

Irida is the leader of the Pearl Clan and has Glaceon as her partner. She’s suspicious of you when you first meet but warms up to you after earning her trust.

In the trailer we can see both clan leaders talking to the Galaxy Team leader, Commander Kamado. This most likely means they’re both branches of the Galaxy Team and report to Kamado.
