Hidden Secrets & Easter Eggs in Pokemon Legends Arceus Trailers

The upcoming Pokemon Legends Arceus comes out in just a couple weeks! Even though we’re finally getting more trailers, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the new game. Luckily, the Pokemon community is very observant and spot Easter eggs and secrets very quickly. The recent Easter egg found in BDSP, was discovered just a few days after the game was released. There are many fans that go through new gameplay trailers with a fine tooth comb, looking for any hints at new content and lore. Here are some of the hidden secrets found in Pokemon Legends Arceus gameplay trailers.

Pokemon Sculptures

Something we see in many trailers are small sculptures around villages. They seem to resemble the head of a Pokemon and for a while it was speculated that these were new Pokemon in the Hisui region that had not been revealed yet. More fans started to realize later that these are actually crude sculptures of Dialga and Palkia, as they’re worshiped by the Diamond and Pearl clans in the region. The people of Hisui obviously know vaguely what Dialga and Palkia look like but these sculptures look strange. This probably means they haven’t been seen in a very long time.

Cave Painting

In the newest trailer we see our character running through various environments. One of those are some ancient ruins but just before we get there we go through a short tunnel. On the left side of the rocks we can see some sort of cave painting. The symbols don’t look familiar so we’re not sure yet if this is just aesthetic or there’s more meaning behind them. Maybe there’s even a secret behind the symbols like a hidden passage or room.

Ancient Tunnel

Another place we see the character pass through is some sort of old tunnel. This one counts as a secret because no one really knows where this is at and it’s captured the attention of many fans. Some theorize this is an ancient ruin hidden in the map and others suggest this could be a way of traveling between areas in Hisui. This is common for Pokemon regions to be separated like this. For example, the areas in the Galar region were also separated by tunnels, mines, and passages. But this also could be another secret hidden in plane sight.

What Berries Do in Pokemon Legends Arceus and All Effects Guide

Pokemon Legends Arceus is known to be much different than previous Pokemon titles. This game will feature new game mechanics and settings we’ve never seen before but some things are staying the same. Berries have been in Pokemon games since Generation II and aren’t going anywhere with this title. Berries are making a reappearance but since combat is slightly different in Legends Arceus, the way we use berries might be as well.

What Are Berries?

You can find berries all over Hisui by shaking trees and from purchasing them at Ginko Guild shops usually found in villages. Berries can be fed to your Pokemon or thrown to a wild Pokemon. The effect depends on what type of berry you use. When used on your own Pokemon, usually these berries result in some sort of buff or healing effect. They can heal your Pokemon’s HP, change status conditions, and raise other stats such as attack and defense. When used on a wild Pokemon, it will distract them and draw their attention, allowing you to get a better shot of them.

All Berries in Pokemon Legends Arceus (so far)

The best information we have is this screenshot from a trailer showing the Ginko Guild shop. There are 5 confirmed berries and the 6th item in the image is unknown at the moment. This could be a berry or just another crafting material. There are most likely a lot more berries than what we see in trailers as Sword & Shield had more than 40 different kinds of berries with varying effects. This page will be updated as more information is found.

How to Transfer Pokemon from Legends Arceus to Pokemon Home

Pokemon Home Legends Arceus

Pokemon Legends Arceus has been out for a while and players are eager to transfer their new Pokemon to and from their Legends Arceus box. This begs the question, can you transfer Pokemon from Home to Legends Arceus? It’s confirmed that Pokemon Home will have connectivity to Pokemon Legends Arceus but when is still in question. We know it will be some time in 2022, and very likely soon. They don’t want to wait too long or else all fans will be focused on the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. Soon players will be able to transfer Pokemon between your Pokemon Home box and your box in Legends Arceus. This Pokemon Home Legends Arceus connectivity allows players to keep their Pokemon past games and use them in the new one and vice versa.

This feature may not be out yet but here’s how to get it set up once this feature comes out.

Connecting Pokemon Legends Arceus to Pokemon Home

Here’s how to connect Legends Arceus to Pokemon Home. First, you’ll need to have Pokemon Home set up and play Pokemon Legends Arceus on the same Nintendo account. Once you do this, they’ll automatically be connected. From there you can launch the Pokemon Home app on your Nintendo Switch and select your Pokemon collection. A screen should appear with a selection of Pokemon games you’ve played. Choose the Pokemon Legends Arceus option. Then you’ll see all of your Pokemon from the game and all of your Pokemon stored in Home. Select the Pokemon you want to transfer and move it into the desired box. Keep in mind that with the free version of Pokemon Home, you’ll only be able to store 30 Pokemon in Home at once across all games, this includes Legends Arceus. You can increase this limit to 6,000 for the paid, premium subscription.

Step by step

  1. Open Pokemon Home app on your Switch
  2. Select Pokemon
  3. Select Pokemon Legends Arceus to connect your account
    • If you don’t see this option, the feature isn’t out yet or you need to launch PLA and come back
  4. Select Pokemon you want to transfer to or from Pokemon Home
  5. Save changes and exit

Pokemon Home on Mobile

Pokemon Home also has a mobile app so you can access your Pokemon Legends Arceus box from your phone. Luckily the steps are the same as on the Nintendo Switch. You’ll want to make sure the app on your iPhone or Android is connected to the same Nintendo account as the one you use to play games on the Switch. From here, just follow the above steps.

Cheapest Pokemon TCG Booster Packs To Buy in 2022

The Pokemon TCG has faced huge demand the past year. This has lead to people taking advantage of the supply to make money. People have been buying boxes and packs out just to sell them for a higher price. This is called scalping and it’s something the community has to constantly fight against. One way to combat scalpers is to buy packs for the cheapest price you can get, instead of buying them at inflated prices. There are also certain Pokemon TCG expansion sets that haven’t been scalped, making them more accessible and in stock. Online you might be able to find these sets for cheaper than its original price but well be linking to GameStop for these products. Not only is Gamestop one of the most reputable sources for buying Pokemon cards but they also sell products at a good price. PokePatch is also a GameStop affiliate so we earn commission off qualifying purchases. 2022 has just started so this list will be updated throughout the year but for the most part this should stay accurate for a while. Here are the cheapest or most common booster packs you’ll find.

1. Fusion Strike

Fusion Strike is one of the most recent Pokemon TCG sets released as it released in December of 2021. But it’s also infamous for having the worst pull rates in any recent set. This means your odds of getting good cards out of a Fusion Strike booster pack is really low compared to other sets. The art on the alternate art rares look amazing, they’re just hard to get. This has turned off fans from buying more packs, making the price and resale value drop quite a bit.

2. Battle Styles

Battle Styles is a set that was released without much hype. It kind of just appeared out of no where. This set has decent pull rates but compared to other recent sets art was lack luster. This doesn’t mean there isn’t amazing art in the Battle Styles set but it seems like this set didn’t focus on art. It focused on introducing new types of cards, rapid strike & single strike. This has a connection to the new Pokemon Legends Arceus battle styles.

3. Chilling Reign

The Chilling Reign set has some very nice cards with decent pull rates. That’s also why it may be more valuable than the other two on this list. But this set is still fairly cheap and can be commonly found on the shelves at retail stores for MSRP or its original price. This set wasn’t scalped like others because it’s release was sandwiched between more popular sets such as Shining Fates and Celebrations, which have more demand.

Shadowless vs Shadowed Pokemon Cards and All Types of Base Set Packs

Shadowed vs Shadowless – What’s the Difference?

Shadowless cards are only featured in the first base set The biggest difference between Shadowed cards and Shadowless cards are self explanatory. One has a drop shadow behind the art and the other doesn’t but the differences don’t stop there. There are differences between these cards that go beyond visuals and art and it’s these differences that determine which is more valuable or more rare. As you may know, Shadowless Pokemon cards are sold for a lot more money than their shadowed counterparts. To understand why this is, first you’ll need to know why Shadowless cards exist.

Types of Base Set Cards

Often we talk about Shadowless cards because it’s the most noticeable difference between all Base Set cards. What a lot of people don’t know is there are even more variants of these original Base Set cards. The first set of Pokemon cards was printed four different times and each time, things were changed, such as error corrections, art, text, and other changes. Here are the 4 separate print runs for Base Set Pokemon cards.

  1. Base Set 1st Edition
  2. Base Set Shadowless
  3. Base Set Unlimited
  4. Base Set 2000

The first two, 1st Edition and Shadowless, had cards that did not have a drop shadow behind the art. This drop shadow was added in the Unlimited variant and kept throughout the 2000 prints as well. So essentially, when a card has no shadow, it means it’s older and therefore harder to find in good condition.

Who Is Sinnoh? Pokemon Legends Arceus Theory

Pokemon Legends Arceus will be released this month and fans are combing through trailers and every bit of content released to find more about this mysterious new game. In one trailer we noticed a character saying something strange. Adaman, the Diamond Clan Leader, says “Almighty Sinnoh forgive me” in the new trailer that showcases the Diamond and Pearl clans. This is the first time we see someone in the Pokemon universe refer to Sinnoh as a being and not a place. We’re used to Sinnoh just being the name of a region but it’s strange seeing the proper noun be used for something else. This is obviously where the future Sinnoh region got it’s name. But where or who does this name come from initially?

Who is Sinnoh?

When we looked into this, our first though was Sinnoh refers to Arceus, as it’s the almighty Pokemon that inadvertently created everything in the Pokemon universe as we know so far. But when we look at trailers more closely, we don’t see any sign or Arceus anywhere. We do, however, see Dialga and Palkia in the form of crude sculptures around villages. This proves people in the Hisui region at this time at least know about Dialga and Palkia but maybe not Arceus just yet. After this was found, another huge piece of information came out.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

The official NintendoAmerica Twitter account posted this Tweet below, confirming the suspicions that Sinnoh is not specifically referring to Arceus, but Dialga and Palkia. It’s possible that these clans don’t know Arceus even exists. They also may not know that Dialga and Palkia are 2 different Pokemon or deities. From the way they talk about Sinnoh, the Pokemon, they make it sound like they’re referring to the same thing. Either they think that their interpretation of Sinnoh is the correct one, or they do know about both Pokemon and choose to worship a certain side. Either way, it’s a very interesting dynamic and even has parallels to similar ideas in the real world. Once again a Pokemon game proves to have deeper meaning and commentary than you’d expect.

Will Pokemon Legends Arceus Be Delayed?

Pokemon Legends Arceus is set to release this month. Even with the release date being so close, there are still people asking if the game will be delayed. This mostly stems from fans noticing unfinished or unpolished gameplay showcased in trailers. Fans in the past have said they wanted Sword & Shield and the Diamond & Pearl remakes to be delayed for similar reasons. GameFreak, The Pokemon Company, nor Nintendo ever delayed these games and they still turned out great (arguably). The only Pokemon game that has been delayed is Pokemon TCG Live. TCG Live is not only not made by GameFreak but it’s not a mainline game. Pokemon Legends Arceus is considered as a mainline game. This means it introduces new Pokemon in the franchise that also appears in other products such as the Pokemon TCG and Pokemon Go. There are multiple Pokemon TCG expansion sets that are Arceus themed and the new update for Pokemon Go is also exploring a time capsule from the past. Delaying Legends Arceus would mean all of these projects would be out of sync and that’s something a big company like this can’t afford.

Should Pokemon Legends Arceus Be Delayed?

This has been a huge controversy in the community for a while now and this is because many fans haven’t been impressed with the graphics in gameplay trailers. But it’s important to note that most criticism about the unreleased game’s graphics were from very early trailers in 2021 and a lot has changed in development since then. In the newest trailers you can clearly see a difference in lighting, foliage, and a general improvement in graphics in general. It’s still probably not the best graphics you’ll see on a Switch game but it’s arguably better than the previous Pokemon game, Sword and Shield. With this in mind, as long as GameFreak has made sure the game is complete when it launches then there’s no reason to delay the release.

Will Pokemon Legends Arceus Have Co-op Play?

Pokemon Legends Arceus is the newest Pokemon game in the franchise. Despite it’s release only being less than a month away, there’s still a lot of information fans don’t know about the game. One question a lot of fans are asking is will Pokemon Legends Arceus have co-op play? We’ve talked about multiplayer features such as trading in another PokePatch article, but co-op play is different from other multiplayer features. When we talk about co-op, we’re specifically talking about battling with or exploring the Hisui region alongside a friend.

2 Players in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Many people have noticed Pokemon Legends Arceus is listed as “up to 2 players” on the official Nintendo Store. This is one of the best pieces of evidence pointing towards a co-op experience being available in Legends Arceus. A user who replied to our Tweet below mentioned that Let’s Go Pikachu on the same Switch eShop also says “up to 2 players”. In Pokemon: Let’s Go, another player can join your game, follow you as you explore, and even help you battle other trainers. Trading is also a feature in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl but that game is only listed as “1 player” on the eShop. This suggests that Pokemon Legends Arceus has more multiplayer features than just trading. On the flip side, we haven’t seen anything in trailers or promotional material that points towards coop being in PLA. It looks like a feature like this could function and be a very popular mechanic in this game but we’ll have to wait until more information comes out to know if it exists for sure. We’ll update this article with new information as it’s released.

Will Pokemon Legends Arceus Have TMs or Technical Machines?

The release of the newest game in the Pokemon series, Pokemon Legends Arceus, is less than a month away now and we still don’t know everything there is to know about this title. Considering there’s already a lot of hype for the new unexplored region, time period, and game mechanics, this mystery aspect of the game has created even more hype than it already had. Questions about how items will work in Legends Arceus have been circulating in the community lately. Though, we’ll get the answers to these questions when the game releases, it’s fun to speculate on what might be. Upon those questions is will TMs be in Pokemon Legends Arceus? Here’s what we know so far.

What Are TMs?

TM stand for Technical Machine. These Technical Machines are used on Pokemon in your party so they can learn certain moves or abilities. This helps balance your team or give a specific Pokemon better moves. TMs are featured in almost all other Pokemon games, so why would it be any different with Legends Arceus?

Will Pokemon Legends Arceus Have TMs?

TMs are a pretty big part of building a team in Pokemon. For this reason, it’s reasonable to assume Pokemon Legends Arceus will have TMs or at least something similar. The problem is, during the time period of the Hisui region, electronics did not exist for the most part, with one exception. Another part of the Pokemon franchise we can look at for more information is the Pokemon TCG. In recent TCG expansion sets, instead of seeing Technical Machine cards, we’ve been seeing a lot of scroll cards. Having Scrolls instead of Technical Machines would match the Legends Arceus theme perfectly as it takes place far back in time. Using scrolls would presumably have the same effect and function the same way as TMs in other Pokemon games that take place in the present or future.
