New Massive Mass Outbreak Shiny Hunting Guide for Pokemon Legends Arceus

In the new Pokemon Day event, an update to Pokemon Legends Arceus was released called Daybreak. In this Daybreak update, some new missions and gameplay was added to the game including a new type of outbreak. These are called Massive Mass Outbreaks. But what are they and how can you get more Shiny Pokemon from them?

What Are Massive Mass Outbreaks?

Massive Mass Outbreaks are the newest addition to Pokemon Legends Arceus that allows you to catch Pokemon from multiple Mass Outbreaks at the same time. When you find a Massive Mass Outbreak a question mark will appear in an area and when you travel there you will see many question marks across your map. Each question mark represents a Mass Outbreak of a random Pokemon. Exploring these outbreaks may result in you finding a shiny Pokemon or even shiny starter Pokemon if you’ve completed the main story missions.

How To Find Shinys in Massive Mass Outbreaks

The best way to find Shiny Pokemon in Massive Mass Outbreak is to give 5 Aguav Berries to Mai’s Munchlax at the main camp in the area. This will reveal what Pokemon are at each outbreak instead of them being hidden by a question mark. Before you give Aguav Berries to Muchlax, you should consider saving your game. If you go through this process and don’t find any Pokemon you want, you can load your game again and get your 5 Aguav Berries back. After you’ve spoken to Mai and Munchlax to reveal the outbreaks on your map, fly over or travel to all of the outbreaks in the area. This way, you can quickly see if any shinys have appeared initially. After you’ve looked at all of the outbreaks you can also go to outbreaks for Pokemon you like the most. Catch all of the Pokemon there as a shiny might spawn after the initial wave. But be quick because Massive Outbreaks have a time limit. Once it stops raining, the outbreaks in the area will dissappear.

To quickly catch Pokemon in outbreaks, throw Sticky Globs or Apricorns at them to stun them. Some Pokemon that are evolved will need to be hit twice before they’re stunned. This will prevent them from attacking you so you don’t have to spend time sneaking around in tall grass and gives you more time to look for shinys.

Massive and Normal Mass Outbreaks are both great ways of quickly hunting shinys, but what’s the best way? What are Normal Mass Outbreaks vs Massive Mass Outbreaks shiny spawn rates? Thanks to Anubis on Twitter AKA @Sibuna_Switch, we can see these shiny spawn rates. According to this chart, you’re 13x more likely to find a shiny in a Massive Mass Outbreak than full odds in the wild. These are really good odds and with how many Pokemon Massive Outbreaks spawn, you’re pretty likely to find a shiny sooner or later. Compare to normal outbreaks, though, it’s not as high. Normal Mass Outbreaks are 26x more likely to spawn shinys than full odds in the wild. These odds are twice as high as Massive ones. Both are still great ways of hunting shinys and it’s all about which shiny Pokemon you want in the end.

The Pokémon Company just announced Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as the 9th generation of Pokemon games. Pokemon Legends Arceus was an experimental game that explored new gameplay mechanics and styles we’ve never seen before in a Pokemon game. Not only did a lot change in this new Switch title but it worked! Players loved the refreshing new gameplay that Legends Arceus brought to the franchise and fans want more. This begs the question, will Pokemon Scarlet and Violet be like Pokemon Legends Arceus?

Scarlet & Violet Gameplay Mechanics

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will likely inherit some gameplay mechanics from Pokemon Legends Arceus but it’s unclear which ones yet. One thing we can infer from the new trailer is that Pokemon and trainer battles will all be in the overworld just like Legends Arceus. This means there won’t be a loading screen or transition when entering and exiting battles. This is arguably one of the best quality of life updates to the franchise so it’s not a surprise this will become the new normal.

Catching Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet

When answering the question is Pokemon Scarlet and Violet like Arceus, the biggest question is if catching Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet will be the same as Legends Arceus. Although this was a very fun gameplay mechanic, it might sadly be reserved for future Legends games and we may see this Gen 9 game go back to the old way of catching Pokemon in battle. This will be okay as long as it feels quicker than previous games. Legends Arceus is a very fast paced game so players might find it boring if the gameplay feels too slow.

What Country is Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Region Based On?

During the latest Pokemon Direct Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was revealed. There’s a lot of talk surrounding the environment and location this game takes place in. Every Pokemon region is based on or comparable to a real world location. For example, Galar is based on the United Kingdom and several other Pokemon games can be connected to other countries and parts of the world. There have been many theories and hints from Sword and Shield to Legends Arceus about where the next Pokemon game will be located. So, where will Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take place?

Where Will Gen 9 Take Place?

Many people thought the 9th generation Pokemon game will take place in India because of several in game hints. But after seeing the trailer, It’s pretty evident at this point that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s region will be based off Spain. Based on the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet trailer we saw from the Pokemon Direct, we have several clues to go off from now. A major clue is the names of the new Starter Pokemon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. While Quaxly is just a cute name for a duck, the other two names are similar to Spanish words. Gatito meaning little cat and Fuego meaning fire in Spanish. That’s not all though, the architecture and decor we see in the Pokemon Day trailer is similar to what you would find in Spain. And in the background of the trailer, if you look closely, you can see a map of Spain on the wall.

Pokemon Gen 9 Revealed! Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The new Pokemon Direct on Pokemon Day 2022 surprised us all with the announcement of the next generation of Pokemon. Despite there being many other Pokemon games releasing the past year, with Pokemon Unite, BDSP, and Legends Arceus, the 9th generation Pokemon game is also well in development. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are planned to release late 2022, which is sooner than we expected! Here’s what we know so far.

Gen 9 Starters

The three new Starter Pokemon for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Sprigatito is a small cat grass type Pokemon. Fuecoco is the new fire type starter. And Quaxly is a duck like water type Pokemon. Evolutions for these starters have not been revealed yet.

Gen 9 Region

The region and environment looks unique to other Pokemon games. Not only are the colors and graphics more refined than previous games but there’s a lot added to the world to give it personality. You can tell this region is based off a certain real life country with the decor and architecture resembling Spain.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Gameplay

So far we haven’t seen much gameplay of Scarlet and Violet but we have seen previews of the region and hints to what the gameplay might be like for the next Pokemon game. There are many screenshots and previews that show they have improved the graphics for this Pokemon game and filled every corner to add personality to the areas. A common complaint for previews and current Pokemon games is that they feel empty. This new title might solve that by adding more foliage and assets across the world. It’s also been said this game will be fully free roam. This means there won’t be loading screens or separations between areas.

What Are Full Fury Battles in Pokemon Unite?

Pokemon Day is coming up on 2/27 to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise. This day will come with a Pokemon Direct with announcements for future projects. This week several Pokemon games are getting updates and events to celebrate the occasion. Pokemon Unite is not an exception to this and is even getting a new game mode and player rewards for Pokemon Day. The new game mode is called Full Fury but what are Full Fury battles?

Full Fury Battles

Full Fury battles are available to play Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from February 24th to April 11th. This game mode is a new type of quick battle that’s very fast paced. Player’s have reduced move cooldowns and reduced recovery times making combat between teams pretty intense. The Aoes energy you get from knocking out opponent Pokemon is also increased, meaning you can score points even faster if you’re able to get to the goal. We’re not sure if this game mode will come back after the event but for now players will have until April 11th to play Full Fury mode.

Pokemon Day Event in Pokemon Unite

The Full Fury mode isn’t the only thing being added to Pokemon Unite for Pokemon Day. On certain days through the Pokemon Day event, all Pokemon will be available to everyone for free temporarily. This is the best opportunity for players to try out a Pokemon they don’t have the license for yet. This will apply to all matches except ranked ones. During the Pokemon day event there will also be extra daily login bonuses and challenges for players to complete for new trainer cosmetic items and Aoes Tickets.

Leaked Pokemon TCG Set Will Have Palkia & Dialga Origin Form Pokemon Cards

The newest Pokemon game on Switch, Pokemon Legends Arceus is very popular right now. Collectors and TCG players are waiting for the Pokemon of the Hisui Region to have their own cards or even sets. It looks like we won’t have to wait much longer for Hisuian Pokemon cards.

Astral Radiance Pokemon TCG Leak

Most information about the next English Pokemon TCG set, Astral Radiance, is unknown but we finally have a sneak peak of what this set will feature. A retailer in France accidentally leaked this future Pokemon TCG expansion set. On the front we see Dialga and Palkia in their origin forme from Pokemon Legends Arceus. Not much was known about this set until these pictures were leaked of the booster packs and booster box art. Now we know this set will be the first to feature the new origin forms of these Legendary Pokemon.

Hisuian Pokemon Cards

Other pack art for the Astral Radiance TCG set features Hisuian regional forms of Pokemon such as Hisuian Decidueye and Hisuian Typhlosion. This means we’ll also see Hisuian Pokemon in this set. Even though this set is apart of the Sword and Shield generation, it’s mostly based on the new Switch game, Pokemon Legends Arceus. We’ll likely see cards from the Battle Region set coming soon in Japan as that set will have multiple V and VStar Hisuian themed cards.

The Most Expensive Pokemon Card Just Sold, Breaking The World Record

The Pokémon card craze hasn’t ended yet and is far from over. The most expensive Pokemon card record is continually getting broken it seems almost every year now. With the rise of popularity in the Pokemon TCG and high demand for Pokemon cards, the value of many cards are still skyrocketing. This mostly includes vintage cards that have been kept in really good condition and there aren’t many of out there. The previous record for the most expensive Pokemon card was a 1st Edition Charizard graded SGC 10 card that sold for $369,000 in 2020. Recently another extremely rare card broke that record by a long shot!

The Most Expensive Pokemon Card Ever

You would think that the most expensive card would still be a 1st edition Charizard with how rare and nostalgic they’ve become. But even more rare and now far more expensive is the Pikachu Illustrator card. Only less than 40 of these cards were ever made and who knows how few are still out in the world. They were given to winners of Pokemon art competitions from 1998 as a reward. This card just sold for $900,000, breaking the previous record by more than half a million dollars!

This particular card that sold is a PSA 7 card. This means the cards condition was graded by PSA and was given a score of 7/10. In 2020, a PSA 9 Pikachu Illustrator card sold for $233,244, so that’s probably worth much more and can easily break the record if sold now. In fact that card is apparently for sale at an ask price of $4,000,000 on Ebay at the moment. But technically the PSA 7 Pikachu Illustrator is the most expensive card right now based on the actual bid price.

If Pokemon and card collecting continues to become more popular, this record will be easily broken in the near future. Even if collecting Pokemon cards become less popular, this record will likely be broken in the coming years just because of how rare some of these collectables are becoming.

Having Trouble Finding Brilliant Stars Packs?

If you’re still having trouble finding packs in your area or online, don’t worry. We expect that Brilliant Stars will be printed quite a bit and will be plentiful this year. This means you shouldn’t have to buy packs from scalpers and you won’t have to wait long before they’re restocked. This is, of course, speculation but it seems like Brilliant Stars won’t be super limited. Full Details for Pokemon Day Event in Sword & Shield

Pokemon day is just a few more days away and The Pokemon Company is rolling out events and updates for several Pokemon games to celebrate. Among those updates, Sword and Shield is also having a Pokemon Day event that lasts from now until Pokemon Day on February 27th. This week only, you’ll be able to find the Kanto starter evolutions in Gigantamax raids around Galar! Some players are disappointed that this was a smaller event than they expected while others agree Sword and Shield isn’t a new game anymore and a new expansion shouldn’t be expected. How to Get Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard, & Blastoise

To get Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise you’ll need to find a Max Raid Battle . Normal raid dens have a red beam of light coming from them while max raids have a bright pink light beam. Upon entering a Max Raid Battle is where you’ll find one of the 3 Kanto starter Pokemon’s evolutions.

Max Mushroom Rewards

Along with the Kantos Starter Gigantimax Pokemon spawning in Dens, you also get a Max Mushroom as a reward for catching or defeating these Pokemon in Max Raid Dens. These mushrooms can be used on Pokemon in battle for buffs or outside of battle to turn a Dynamax form into Gigantamax form and vice versa.

  • Gigantamax Venusaur at 33%
  • Gigantamax Charizard 34%
  • Gigantamax Blastoise 33%

As you can see above, all of the Pokemon in Max Raid Dens right now have about the same spawn rate odds with the exception of Charizard. Charizard has an extra 1% chance of spawning compared to the others, this was probably done because it’s arguably the most popular out of the original trio.

How To Download & Play The Pokemon TCG Live Beta

The release of Pokemon TCG Live is coming closer and they’re now releasing a Beta test to the public! This new PC and Mobile card game is the successor to Pokemon TCG Online or PTCGO for short. Some players don’t like the change for various reasons but we’re hoping this new online Pokemon card game becomes better than before. Starting today, February 22nd, the new Pokemon TCG Live Beta will be available to Canadian players. The Pokemon Support page doesn’t explain why the Pokemon TCG Live Beta is only available in Canada. As far as we can tell it seems like they just didn’t want to release to the entire world until they improve on the gameplay experience they have right now.
