Obsidian Flames Pull Rates in Pokemon TCG set

Obsidian Flames is the first Scarlet and Violet set to feature Charizard! Whether you love it or hate it, Charizard is a huge mascot for the Pokemon TCG and produces some of the most expensive cards in the game. This set has so much more than Charizard though, with other Pokemon like Cleffa and Gloom secret rare art stealing the spotlight. There are plenty of great chase cards in this new set, but how good are the pull rates?

It’s been very hard to find booster packs in store recently because there is so much hype around new sets and this is no exception! There are absolutely beautiful chase cards in this set. One of the best cards in the set, Magikarp 203/193 goes for about $200 right now. There are tons of other rares in this set that I would personally love to collect such as Iono and Dendra, which fall into the category of expensive waifu cards.

What Are Ace Spec Pokemon Cards?

Ace Spec cards are rare reverse holo cards that started back in 2012 from the Black and White: Bounderies Crossed TCG set. 12 years later, in 2024 they’ve made a return in the new Scarlet and Violet: Temporal Forces set. They can also be found in the new Twilight Masquerade set and possibly more Scarlet and Violet sets coming soon.

What Is Ace Spec?

Ace Spec cards are Item Trainer or Special Energy cards. These are found in the first reverse Holo slot, so they don’t take away you odds of pulling a rare. The odds of pulling an Ace Spec depends on the set but in Temporal Forces, your odds of pulling on is about 5% or 1/20. The art on an Ace Spec card differs depending on which expansion you get it from. You’ll find silver Ace Spec cards from Black and White sets while the new ones from Scarlet and Violet are a bright pink.

If you’re playing the Pokemon TCG and not just a collector these cards can also be very valuable! These cards allow players to switch benched Pokemon, increase HP and damage, and allowing players to choose any card from their deck. Because of their usefulness, players are only allowed to have one Ace Spec card per deck.

Where To Get Ace Spec Cards

If you’re looking for specific Ace Spec cards to put in your deck, try TCGPlayer.com. You’ll be able to find any card you want, like this Prime Catcher for a reasonable price!

Pokemon 151 Might Get A Reprint! Here’s What We Know

Will Pokemon 151 Get Reprinted?

Pokemon 151 remains one of the most popular sets of the past year. This is because the set contains all 151 original Pokemon with fresh new art and some amazing full art and illustration rare chase cards. The most expensive of them being the popular Charizard ex. Because of the popularity, it’s easy to assume there will be a reprint of this set but we no longer have to assume! We’ve heard retailers got confirmation of a reprint of the Japanese 151 set that will come in June or July of 2024.

Pokemon 151 Reprint Date

Not only will a reprint make it available to buy from retailers again but it would bring the price down a lot from resellers. This is great for collectors and people who have been wanting to open packs of 151. With a confirmation of the Japanese 151 set getting reprinted, we can safely assume the English set will get a reprint later this year as well. This will probably happen closer to September or November when we get closer to the Holiday season.

Where To Get Pokemon 151 Booster Packs

If you’re thinking about buying some 151 booster packs, you can wait for a reprint or find a great deal on sites like TCGPlayer.com!

The First English Pokemon Card Isn’t What You Think It Is

To a lot of people the first ever Pokemon card is the Shadowless Alakazam, as it’s the 1st card in the original base set. This might of been the first card in the first set ever released in an English set but there was something that came before that and is much more valuable.

The First Test Print

Wizards of the Coast was commissioned to print English Pokemon cards because they were already known for printing Magic: The Gathering cards. As a test, WotC printed a single Pokemon card with some of their MTG cards. This card was a Blastoise 009/165R. This was the first English Pokemon card ever printed, although it was never released as an official card. As of now there are only a hand full of these cards in circulation and they can go for up to $360,000 a piece making it one of the most expensive Pokemon cards ever.

If the art on this Blastoise card looks familiar, you’re not alone. The illustration was never used on an official Pokemon card but it was used for the Base Set booster pack art! If you want to own a piece of this history, the best way to do it without breaking the bank is buying a Base Set Booster Pack. You can get one for a great price over at TCGPlayer.com!

What are CLC, CLV, CLB Cards and Where to Get Them?

What are CLC cards?

In short, CLC stands for Classic Charizard. CLV stands for Classic Venusaur. CLB stands for Classic Blastoise. These cards are reprints of classic base set cards released in 2024.

Where to get CLC, CLV, and CLB Cards

The only way to obtain these cards is from the Pokemon TCG Classic Collection. This is the most expensive English product ever released at $400 on Pokemon Center website. It comes with 3 decks (CLC, CLV, and CLB decks), 3 deck boxes, 3 sets of sleeves, a game board and more! But that’s not why everyone is trying to get their hands on this product. Everyone wants this collection because each card is a reprint of classic base set cards and every card is holo! If you’re like many people, you don’t want to spend $400 on Pokemon cards, you can always buy singles off sellers on websites like TCGPlayer.

Other Types of Classic Cards

There are also CLF, CLK, and CLF cards. These are the same thing as CLC cards but are Japanese versions of the same cards.

Palworld’s Release Date Plans & What We Know So Far

Palworld is the newest monster catching survival game that has already broken records within days of the early access launch! Many people are describing the new game as a “Pokemon with guns” and if you’ve played it, you’ll know how accurate that comparison is. With the game being so new, there are still many questions players are asking and we’re here to find the answers.

Palworld Release Date

Palworld released as early access on January 19th, 2024 and is now available to play on Xbox Gamepass, PC Xbox Gamepass, and Steam. The truth is the Palworld full release date is yet to be known. There has been a pattern of early access games taking a years to come out of early access and some never making it out of this stage of development. With how popular the game is and how much money the developers are making at this point, it would be smart to keep it in early access just long enough to flesh out existing features and bugs before going to full release. This could take at least another year to complete. So, assume sometime in 2025.

Will Palworld be on PS5?

With Palworld being exclusively on PC and Xbox at the moment a lot of people are asking, will Palworld ever be released on PlayStation? It seems like the developers have not been working on a PS4 or PS5 Palworld port but again with the extreme, sudden rise in popularity, it’s a no-brainer to bring the game to another platform that will only give the game more players. It’s very likely the developers will consider releasing the game on PlayStation during the early release phase of development and we’ll be updated soon on what their decision is. For now, we’ll just have to stick to PC and Xbox.

Does Palworld Have Crossplay & How To Join Others

Does Palworld Support Crossplay?

Palworld luckily does have crossplay but only if you and the other player’s game versions match. As of the Palworld early access launch, Xbox gamepass players and Xbox PC gamepass players can play together but they can’t play with Steam players. This is presumably because the Steam version is v0.1.2.0 while the Xbox version of the game is v0.1.0.0. This means the versions just aren’t compatible.

How to Join Friends in Palworld

Joining friends in Palworld is pretty simple. One player starts a world, this will be the host. The host goes to the pause menu, look under options, and select the eye icon to show the invite code. Other players wanting to join the world will enter the invite code from the main menu. You can not transfer characters from other worlds, so if you haven’t joined this server before, you’ll need to make a new character.

Future Crossplay

Will Steam players ever be able to play with Xbox gamepass players? Most likely, yes. The community is assuming that the inability for crossplay with Steam players is due to the version mismatch. This means once the Xbox version is up to date, Steam players and Xbox player should be able to join each other’s games.
